DIESEL ENGINE REBUILDING FOR COMMERCIAL TRUCKS, SEMIS AND CHARTER BUSES

When internal wear or engine damage calls for more than a standard repair, Bo’s Garage provides heavy-duty diesel engine rebuilding based on the condition of the engine and the demands of its application.

We inspect and measure critical components to determine the appropriate rebuilding work. When counter bore machining is required, that work can be performed in-house at our Thomasville shop or at the location of your repair.

Bo’s Garage works with CAT, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Mack, International, Volvo and Paccar diesel engines. Call with your engine information and symptoms to discuss the next step.

Why Consider a Rebuild?

A PRACTICAL PATH FOR A WORN OR DAMAGED DIESEL ENGINE

THE RIGHT DECISION STARTS WITH DIAGNOSTICS, INSPECTION AND MEASUREMENT

A diesel engine rebuild may be appropriate when internal wear or damage has progressed beyond a conventional repair, but the engine still provides a suitable foundation for rebuilding.

The engine’s condition, operating history and application all help determine the proper scope of work. Components are inspected and measured so rebuilding decisions can be based on what the engine actually needs.

Every engine is different. Bo’s Garage evaluates the available information before recommending repair, rebuilding or another course of action.

SIGNS AN ENGINE MAY NEED REBUILDING

Excessive oil consumption
Loss of compression or engine power
Persistent blow-by or abnormal exhaust smoke
Coolant or oil contamination
Unusual internal engine noise
Evidence of significant internal wear or damage
A major failure identified during diagnostics

These symptoms do not always mean an engine requires rebuilding. Proper diagnostics and inspection are needed to determine the cause.

Our Process

FROM INITIAL EVALUATION TO FINAL VERIFICATION

CAREFUL INSPECTION. PURPOSEFUL REBUILDING. CHECKED BEFORE RETURNING TO SERVICE.
1

DIAGNOSE & DISASSEMBLE

We review the engine’s symptoms and operating concerns before disassembling it as required to evaluate its internal condition.

2

INSPECT & MEASURE

The block and critical engine components are inspected and measured to identify wear, damage and out-of-spec conditions.

3

MACHINE & REBUILD

Required machining and component replacement are completed according to the engine’s condition and application. Counter boring is performed in-house & on-site for your convenience.

4

REASSEMBLE & VERIFY

The engine is carefully reassembled, and final measurements and checks are completed before the rebuild is returned to service.
