HEAVY-DUTY BELTS, HOSES & FILTERS

Routine Component Service

REPLACE WORN COMPONENTS BEFORE THEY INTERRUPT THE ROUTE

BELT, HOSE, AIR-FILTER AND FUEL-FILTER SERVICE FOR COMMERCIAL DIESEL VEHICLES

Belts, hoses and filters perform essential jobs throughout a heavy-duty diesel vehicle. Although these components may appear routine, wear, deterioration or restriction can affect cooling, fuel delivery, airflow and overall engine operation.

Bo’s Garage provides inspection and replacement of applicable belts, hoses, air filters and fuel filters for commercial trucks, semis and select charter or tour buses.

Service recommendations are based on component condition, vehicle application and manufacturer maintenance guidance.

WEAR OR RESTRICTION CAN AFFECT SEVERAL VEHICLE SYSTEMS

INSPECTION HELPS IDENTIFY COMPONENTS APPROACHING THE END OF THEIR SERVICE LIFE

Engine belts operate accessories and supporting components. Hoses carry coolant and other fluids through systems where heat, pressure and vibration can gradually weaken the material.

Air and fuel filters help keep harmful contaminants away from the engine. When filters become restricted, the engine may not receive the airflow or fuel supply needed for proper operation.

Regular inspection helps identify cracking, fraying, soft spots, leaks, loose connections and filter restrictions before they contribute to a breakdown.

SERVICE MAY INCLUDE

Engine accessory belts
Belt tensioners and pulleys
Radiator and coolant hoses
Hose clamps and connections
Engine air filters
Diesel fuel filters
Water-separator elements
Crankcase ventilation filters, when applicable
Other application-specific filters

Component availability and replacement requirements depend on the vehicle and engine configuration.

Our Process

FROM INSPECTION TO COMPLETED SERVICE

CONDITION-BASED SERVICE FOR ROUTINE WEAR COMPONENTS
1

CONFIRM THE APPLICATION

We review the truck or bus, engine information and available maintenance history.

2

INSPECT THE COMPONENTS

Applicable belts, hoses, connections and filters are checked for visible wear, damage or restriction.

3

REVIEW THE FINDINGS

We identify components that require service and explain any related concerns discovered during inspection.

4

REPLACE & VERIFY

Approved components are replaced, followed by the appropriate checks for fit, operation and leaks.

When Should These Components Be Replaced?

CONDITION, OPERATING HOURS AND ENVIRONMENT ALL AFFECT SERVICE LIFE

FOLLOW MANUFACTURER GUIDANCE AND PAY ATTENTION TO DEVELOPING WARNING SIGNS

Replacement intervals vary by engine, component and operating environment. Heat, oil contamination, heavy workloads, extended idling, dust and repeated temperature changes can shorten component life.

If a vehicle is experiencing recurring filter restriction, coolant loss or belt failure, the underlying system should be inspected rather than repeatedly replacing the affected component.

Warning signs may include:

Cracked, glazed or frayed belts
Belt squealing or unusual accessory noise
Soft, swollen, cracked or leaking hoses
Coolant residue around hose connections
Frequent fuel-filter restriction
Reduced engine performance
Restricted-air-filter indicators
An unknown or overdue maintenance history
DON’T WAIT FOR A WORN BELT, LEAKING HOSE OR RESTRICTED FILTER TO STOP THE VEHICLE
